Christmas Event Flowers in Amsterdam: Creating a Festive Setting Without Going Over the Top
Christmas events don't have to look like Christmas markets.
There is so much more you can do with flowers, foliage, branches and seasonal textures to create a festive atmosphere that feels beautiful, modern and completely your own.
At The Bloom Bar, we love creating Christmas florals for corporate events, hotels, restaurants and private celebrations across Amsterdam and the Netherlands.
Here are some of our favourite ways to bring a festive event to life.
Start With the Atmosphere
Before choosing the flowers, think about the atmosphere you're trying to create.
Do you want your Christmas event to feel:
Elegant and sophisticated?
Think candlelight, deep greens, subtle colour and beautiful seasonal foliage.
Warm and welcoming?
Natural textures, branches, berries and soft seasonal tones can create a more relaxed feeling.
Bold and playful?
This is your opportunity to have fun with colour.
Christmas doesn't have to be red and green.
Deep pinks, burgundy, coral, orange, lilac and unexpected combinations can create something much more contemporary.
Christmas Table Flowers
The dining table is often the heart of a Christmas event.
We love creating arrangements that work alongside candlelight, glassware, linens and tableware rather than overpowering them.
A long, loose arrangement can create a beautiful sense of abundance.
Alternatively, a collection of smaller arrangements can feel more relaxed and allow you to play with different heights and textures.
Add seasonal foliage, branches, berries or interesting dried elements and suddenly the table has a completely different character.
Go Beyond the Centrepiece
Christmas event styling doesn't have to stop at the dining table.
Consider where your guests will experience the event.
A floral arrangement at the entrance can create an immediate sense of occasion.
Flowers around a bar can make it feel like part of the overall styling.
A staircase can become a feature.
And a floral installation or backdrop can create a memorable moment for photographs.
These details are especially effective for corporate events where guests may be sharing photographs from the evening.
Christmas Flowers for Hotels
Hotels have a particularly interesting opportunity during the festive season.
Guests experience the space from the moment they walk through the entrance, so flowers can help create a sense of celebration throughout the property.
We can create seasonal floral styling for:
- Hotel entrances
- Reception areas
- Restaurants
- Christmas dinners
- Corporate parties
- Private events
- Christmas installations
- Guest areas and lounges
Christmas Doesn't Have to Mean Traditional
The key is creating a consistent feeling without making every space identical.
One of our favourite things about seasonal floristry is that there are no rules saying Christmas has to look a certain way.
You can create a festive atmosphere without using traditional decorations at all.
Think sculptural branches, beautiful foliage, unusual flowers, candles, berries and natural textures.
Or go completely in the opposite direction with an explosion of colour.
The best Christmas event styling is often the styling that feels like the brand, venue or host — just with a little extra magic.Sustainable Festive Styling
The festive season can create a lot of unnecessary waste, which is why we prefer to think carefully about the materials we use.
Seasonal foliage, reusable vessels and natural materials can all contribute to a beautiful Christmas installation while allowing us to be more thoughtful about what happens after the event.
We believe festive styling can be spectacular without being wasteful.Planning a Christmas Event in Amsterdam?
